This past week has kind of been a shambles, and I have to admit that I was perilously close to falling off the good habits wagon. I had been doing really well making my workouts, eating healthier, and generally feeling a lot better over the past couple of weeks. That kind of came to a screeching halt on Sunday, however. You see, I went home this weekend and had planned on riding 90 with a big roadie, it was going to be a long day with a guy who would really push my pace a little bit. I was a little nervous and a little excited. The night before, however, I ate a HUGE meal that was not really in line with the vegetable-heavy meals I've been eating lately, so I was a bit sluggish. Nevertheless, off we were at 7 a.m. for our ride. Did I mention that it was the most depressing color of grey outside, with a steadily soaking rainfall? No? Well it was; but we were off nonetheless to meet some other roadies for our ride. About 45 minutes into the ride we got to our meeting place and were waiting for our friends when there was a HUGE crack of thunder. At that point we turned around and began the ride home. About three minutes later we heard two other cracks that were very, very close. At that point we got off and called home. Upon arrival back home, when I should have hit the trainer, I hit the showers then the sheets. Because of that, I have very little to recover from this week, so I'm not going to do a recovery week this week. Hooray, another week of building! |
