As the great Paula Abdul put it...

I take one step forward and two steps back.  So, last week I was on here patting myself on the back for making all my workouts and being an awesomely awesome trainer, and now I'm here in abject disappointment to say that I made none of my scheduled runs this week.  None.  Not one.  How pathetic is that?  I didn't even have classes this week, so there's really no excuse whatsoever, except laziness.  Which is the very reason I'm in this last-minute scramble for fitness in the first place.

Oh woe is me, will I ever learn?  I went swimming twice and made (most) of my workouts this weekend.  So it wasn't a total wash, but still.  One step forward, two steps back.  Amen Paula. Amen.

Weekend Weakness
Sunday, April 1, 2007

So, this weekend I suffered from a little bit of this.  I made both workouts, which is pretty momentous in reality, but I did them out of order, and not in the optimal time slots as specified by my coaching buddy.  So that sucked and probably led to a lot of the extra fatigue I was feeling today on the bike.  But I have to say that I'm pretty proud of myself for making both workouts, and following the specifications pretty well.  So while I'm not kissing off the weekend slovenliness that I'm so used to, I'm hoping to balance out the lethargy with a little bit of working out.  I feel pretty good about the prospects of finishing Lake Anna right now, I'm just a little scared of just how much it's going to hurt. But what's a race without a little bit of pain?
