Countdown to IM UK is 30 days!  I'm undertrained, but trying to get in the long key workouts.  Just ran 19 today and felt pretty good.  Need at least one more long run and a few more long rides.  Will try to go 70+ tomorrow.  Gotta get all the training in before leaving for Venice on the 20th!  Big european trip coming up.  One more tune up tri....Diamond in the Rough next weekend!

Ironman Louisville is in the books.  In some ways my worst race (time), in others my best (support... Carole, family! and had to struggle to earn this one - especially on the marathon!)  Number 5.  Earned it and feel good but was a long day.  70.3's are way easier and probably better suited to my training, but still something about an ironman... Next?  UK?

2 weeks to go!

Ironman Louisville.  All the hay's in the barn and the long trainings done.  It's been a pretty lean year.  Had a great time last weekend riding a metric century w Carole on the tandem.  Time to taper!  It's gonna have to be enough.  Will need all the extra energy I can get to get thru 140.6!

6 weeks till Louisvill

It's been a tough spring and summer to train!  ...Job, relationship and dad responsibilities.  So I've felt undertrained, and results have born that out.  I  felt like my brothers were pulling me (although we finished 2nd in the Yough Extreme Adventure race in May).  My first race was Powerman Alabama where I was AG 4th, but then had subpar outings at Columbia and Eagleman.  But last week I did well at Diamond in the Rough (although mostly bcs it was a triathlon that became a duathlon due to rain and lightning).  However,  despite and all race rain, my times were pretty close to previous ones and after aging up to my new 50-54 AG I got 3rd on the podium!  Now 6 weeks till Louisville!

Amazing trip!!!  Just got back from Hawaii to watch my brother race.  Eric did great 10:17!!  Chrissie set a new course record and Crowie won on the mens side!  Really want to race there some day!!  Need a lottery though.  Great to be there with Linda and the kids and my dad.  Sports med conference was great!  Went to the top of Muana Loa to the observatory, hosted by the scientist.  Great sunset!  One of the most incredible days of my life.  What an experience!  Saw the lava flow in to the ocean!  Rode on the Queen K on a Cervelo P4, swam part of the course in Kailua bay, and ran on Alii drive.  Heaven!!!  So incredible to be there, be among other awesome triathletes!!  All in all great!!  Can't wait to get back!  Gives me the drive to train again.
