On Saturday I took part in the first-ever running of the United Healthcare North Carolina Marathon in Greensboro. The course was much hillier, and much tougher, than I expected it to be. One of my running friends, who has run 10 marathons, said this one was the toughest he's done. I ended up finishing with a gun time of 3:33:24 and a chip time of 3:33:19. That was a new marathon PR for me by about 4 minutes, good enough for 3rd place in my age group and #22 of 179 men.
For my next marathon, I'm going to pick one with a totally flat course! |
