My course session was, as always, quite the revelation. Firstly, there is a lot of work to do. It is not a matter of how fast or hard you can go but the quality of what you do. Remember, I get paid for results, not time.
I came here with some questions as to what to do regarding current & future business partners. Forget the word partner; what it's all about is strategic alliances. Individuals will move in the direction that is most advantageous to them. Written agreements can be broken providing a good revenue stream to only the solicitor(s) hired. Nurture & develop those alliances. They are your practice.
I am in the Wealth Management Business. No one individual can do it all. My role is as a co-ordinator, using a strategic alliance where it is of benefit to the customer. As the co-ordinator spend considerable time in preparation of a written format that is to be followed. This is your contract and provides confirmation of your value. Your Unique Ability will want to make it short, imprint your own style but remember that the client must appreciate what value is received.
I was to do a ton of training while here but that was not the main purpose of this trip. I will get a long swim in and then relax. If you ever stay in Toronto, check out the Sheraton Centre. They have a full sized pool that is 1/3 inside, 2/3's out that can be used by athletes summer and winter. Great for training while here on business. Watch your pocketbook though, major shopping is an underground tunnel away. |
